Pahoa Village Farmers Market and beyond, Fishing on the Big Island

Took a drive to Pahoa and beyond down Highway 130, the Pahoa Farmers Market is right off the highway, costs a dollar to get in, is the largest one in the area I believe, and it was hoppin! So many smells, both from the food and the slightly unwashed hippies. Went all the way down Hwy 130 until it dead ends, supposedly you can see the live lava flow at the end of this road, there is a phone number to call and it said that "the live lava viewing site will be returned to it's original function as a transfer station at the end of the year" or something like that, all we saw at the end was a group of young locals so we pulled a Uturn and went up Hwy 137, found a paved pullout and watched the locals fish, I saw a Whale!!! or more, saw it's tail and it's back and it spouted a few times. Wow!
Every time we have watched the locals fish they've caught some nice sized ones, all good to eat they say. You don't need a license to fish from shore, they use large oblong orange and white bobbers and use seaweed as bait! How simple is that!

Entrance to Pahoa Farmers Market

Great place to people watch at the Farmers Market.

You can hike over this to see the ocean on the other side

Nice blue fish, can't remember the what the man said it's called, could be Naenue??

Went swimming at Kapoho hot pond, actually it was too warm though does get fed from ocean, is also geothermically heated
